ATHENA Copper Ring Gasket

Features

For specific high-power applications, engine performance can be significantly improved using Athena copper ring gaskets, which are supplied with stainless steel rings.

This technology outperforms conventional fire ring solutions. Reinforced material M0115 (see features below): asbestos-free composite raw material, approved by the Original Equipment (OE) manufacturer.

Properties

The M0115 engine gasket features good mechanical and thermal resistance and adapts perfectly to sealing surfaces. It is resistant to oils, fuels, water and antifreeze mixtures, as well as corrosion inhibitors.

Stainless steel ring (AISI 304): Independent stainless steel rings ensure maximum sealing around the cylinder bore, even in engines with NOS and/or turbochargers where boost pressure exceeds 2 bar.

No machining of the cylinder head or block is required.

Silicone bead: A silicone bead is applied in critical areas to improve sealing around all water and oil cooling passages.

Color: Gray

Treatment: For applications subject to high stress, special coatings are applied. For example, a PTFE anti-stick coating or a special silicone coating that improves micro-sealing and silicone beading.

Manufacturing process of the copper ring for ring gaskets

Pressing process: Each gasket is pressed to achieve perfect flatness according to the required tolerances.

Silicone beading: This process adds a silicone bead over specific areas of the gasket to improve sealing around liquid (water and oil) passages.

Finishing: The application of different surface coatings allows the gasket to perform better, prevent sticking, and improve resistance to high temperatures.

Copper ring assembly: Each gasket supplied with a steel ring is manually refined to ensure a perfect installation of the copper ring.

For specific very high-power applications. A conventional or MLS head gasket can be significantly improved by using a different sealing system for the combustion chamber. Athena uses a patented INOX stainless steel fire ring that offers superior sealing technologies compared to copper rings and conventional fire rings. This solution drastically increases the resistance of the head gasket to extreme conditions.
