Forge Motorsport FMINT33 Intercooler for Audi RS3 8Y

The Forge intercooler for the RS3 8Y chassis reinforces its reputation in cooling solutions that deliver a true power increase and impressive temperature reduction. While the 8Y chassis shares many components with the previous 8V, the available space behind the bumper is shaped differently, and the crash bar has also been modified. This necessitated the design of an entirely new intercooler and crash bar setup for this latest chassis.

The crash bar that Audi fitted to the RS3 8Y is steel, but this Forge Motorsport intercooler kit utilizes a genuine Audi alloy crash bar that has been modified to house the colossal race intercooler. Compared to the weight of the original intercooler and crash bar, it is only 1kg heavier, meaning that the additional weight does not affect performance and is more than offset by the power gains achieved after installation.

The core for the RS3 8Y measures a huge 640x250x130mm with a bar and plate design. This gives an impressive 55% increase in surface area over the stock factory part, and an even more impressive 153% increase in volume. The end tanks are fabricated with integrated pipes to retain the stock boost hoses, but you can also replace the standard hoses with the FO-FMKT033 boost hose kit (sold separately) should you wish. This can help prevent hose dilation and bursting when increasing boost pressure, as on the 8V chassis.
