MMR Competition Intercooler for BMW N55 M2 M135i M235i 335i 345i 2015-2019

Maintain optimal temperatures with the MMR 'Competition' intercooler for the BMW M2, M135i, M235i, 335i, and 435i. Our maximum-specification, high-efficiency tube-and-fin stepped core minimizes pressure drops and significantly improves power and torque by substantially reducing intake air temperatures, thanks to a 70% larger frontal area and almost double the internal volume compared to the original.

The factory intercooler used in N55 engines has proven unable to withstand the demands of high-powered vehicles and spirited driving, leading to significant power losses during demanding driving due to increased air temperatures and long cool-down times.

With a massive stepped tube and fin core, our Competition intercooler offers nearly double the volume of the original unit and a 70% larger frontal area. A truly significant difference. The stepped core uses internal turbulators to enhance its cooling performance, and the CFD-optimized end tanks help maintain the best possible airflow through the core. We offer two types of intercoolers for N55 FX vehicles. In addition to this Competition version, we offer our high-performance unit, which uses a bar-and-plate construction.

We recommend this Competition version for maximum performance applications, as the pressure drop is always lower in tube-and-fin construction, ensuring the highest possible airflow (and therefore, the highest power). It also has the advantage of being lighter, although it is slightly more expensive than our high-performance unit.

Our development focused on finding the sweet spot between maximum intake air temperature cooling and minimum pressure loss. This has allowed us to achieve a larger size without increasing lag.
