The Forge Motorsport direct intake system for the Ford Fiesta ST180 incorporates a large-diameter, high-flow Ram Air filter, pleated with synthetic nanofiber, which provides superior filtration and improved engine breathing. It also features a larger surface area than the standard filter and many competing brands.
The MAF sensor housing is CNC machined in our Gloucester workshop and features a slight internal taper to ensure maximum flow, emulating the stock setup and eliminating the possibility of the engine management light illuminating. Forge also includes a laser-cut, powder-coated aluminum heat shield that sits under the filter and directs air around it, entering the engine bay via the bonnet panel.
During testing, we have seen gains of up to 11 BHP when installed in conjunction with an ECU remap, which is usually necessary to take full advantage of the improved airflow.
