RTMG Performance launches a Torsen limited-slip differential for the 02M/02Q manual gearboxes of the VW Group's 2.0 TFSI EA113 engine.
RTMG's Torsen differential is a Type A helical gear differential. It functions as a conventional differential but can lock up if a torque imbalance occurs.
During acceleration under asymmetric traction conditions, as long as the wheel with more traction can support the higher percentage of applied torque, no relative slip will occur.
When the traction difference exceeds the TBR, the slower output wheel of the differential receives the traction torque of the faster wheel multiplied by the TBR. The remaining torque contributes to the angular acceleration of the faster output wheel of the differential.
