The latest generation turbocharged Renault Clio 1.6 comes factory-fitted with a side-mounted intercooler that, in addition to being poorly located, is too small for the standard model, and even more so for those with remapped ECUs. Renault's solution for the Clio Cup cars was to adapt the entire grille with water cooling for the intercooler, but even then, it proved insufficient on the track after a few laps. On a 15 °C day, the typical Renault intercooler temperature exceeds 50 °C, while our intercooler maintained temperatures 15 to 20 °C lower.
Due to the location of the standard intercooler and the routing of the air conditioning ducts, it is impossible to increase its size without significant modifications. Our solution was a front-mounted intercooler that utilizes the lower bumper grille, thus ensuring good cool air flow. The kit we supply includes all the necessary ducts, hoses, clamps, nuts, and bolts for installation.
