For high horsepower applications, Radium Competition Catch Cans (CCC) have a much larger capacity than standard Radium catch cans. Large (L) and extra-large (XL) versions of the CCC are available. The CCC XL meets the minimum 1 quart (approx. 1 liter) capacity requirement set by various organizations such as SCCA, NASA, Formula Drift, etc.

FEATURES

This new version of the Competition Catch Cans allows for two different ways of connecting the crankcase system: Vent To Atmosphere and Vent To Engine.

Vent To Atmosphere (VTA): Out of the box, the Competition Catch Can is set up to vent to atmosphere. The giant unrestricted outlet is 183% larger in diameter than the 10AN inlet inner diameters. This increased volume reduces airflow, allowing vapors to precipitate. Additionally, a diffuser traps contaminants, letting oil sludge drain back into the reservoir. This prevents excessive atomized oil buildup in the engine bay.
Vent To Engine (VTE): This system allows the purified air to recirculate back into the intake system. Simply remove the three top screws to swap the VTA plate with the VTE plate and gasket. Quickly, two additional 7/8"-14 (10AN ORB) ports are added to the catch can, converting it into a dual inlet/dual outlet catch can.

When using this VTE configuration, the top (pink) and side (yellow) ports can be used interchangeably—either the top ports are inlets and the side ports are outlets, or vice-versa.

When the throttle opens, the PCV valve closes, and vacuum is generated in the intake tract.

The flow of the Radium Engineering PCV Valve (sold separately) should be routed towards the intake manifold (vacuum).

An OEM PCV valve can only be used if it came factory installed in the intake manifold. If it is mounted in the breather port (valve cover), a PCV valve must be installed in the catch can.

The PCV valve can be used with a VTE catch can to maintain constant negative crankcase pressure. The diagram below shows the case where the throttle is closed.
CONSTRUCTION

The CNC machined aluminum catch can unscrews for easy servicing. The CCC features a dual-stage condensing design (located at the inlet and outlet). These free-flowing chambers generate no restriction.

It incorporates a 4AN ORB threaded port on the bottom for connecting a drain valve.

The included bracket offers great flexibility and allows for full 360-degree rotation. Additionally, M6x1mm bolts for chassis mounting are included.

All ports are machined with 10AN ORB (7/8"-14) threads. For engines that do not require all ports, simply use part 14-0351 to plug any unnecessary ports.

NOTES

The bottom of the body easily unscrews for draining.

The integrated dipstick unscrews for quick oil level checks.

Sold without fittings.

Catch cans are NOT designed to be used with aftermarket crankcase vacuum pumps.
