An important first step to reducing unwanted power-robbing under-hood heat is to wrap the headers and exhaust pipes. Less under-hood radiant heat results in cooler air charge for improved performance, and keeping exhaust gases hotter within the exhaust system helps decrease exhaust density and increases exhaust flow.

NOTE: DEI HT Silicone Coating Spray is highly recommended for DEI Fiberglass Exhaust Wrap to penetrate, seal, protect, and prolong the life of exhaust wrap.
NOTE: Wrap insulation is Not recommended for use on catalytic converter as overheating can shorten its life. Instead, try our Corvette Catalytic Converter Shield or make your own shield with our Floor & Tunnel Shield II™.
Caution Note:
Exhaust wrap is not designed to be moved or removed after heat cycling. Upon heating, the fibers lose their initial pliability. This does not reduce the thermal properties of the wrap. Please keep this in mind before removal. For this reason, avoid wrapping flexible pipes or flex joints.
Note on Titanium Exhaust Systems:
DEI does NOT recommend wrapping titanium exhausts. The alloys used in manufacturing titanium exhaust systems are typically thin and designed to dissipate heat rapidly. Wrapping any titanium exhaust pipe, regardless of brand, can hold too much heat in and cause the titanium alloy to become brittle and prone to premature cracking. If heat reduction on a titanium exhaust system is desired, DEI recommends using alternatives such as our flexible heat shields.
