Fiberglass exhaust wrap solves the problem of extreme under-hood heat and improves exhaust system performance.
Wrapping headers and down pipes is an important first step in reducing unwanted power-robbing under-hood heat. Cooler under-hood temps result in cooler air charge for improved performance, and keeping hotter exhaust gases within the exhaust system helps decrease exhaust density and increases exhaust flow.
Design Engineering stainless steel locking ties are the perfect way to secure exhaust wrap for an easy, clean, professional installation.

NOTE:
Catalytic Converters: Wrapping catalytic converters is not recommended, as overheating can reduce converter life. Instead, try our Corvette catalytic converter shield or create your own shield using our Floor & Tunnel Shield II™.
Removal: Exhaust insulating wrap is not designed to be removed after heat cycling. Upon heating, the fibers lose their initial flexibility. This does not reduce the thermal properties of the wrap. Keep this in mind prior to removal. For this reason, avoid wrapping flex pipe or flexible joints.
Titanium Exhaust Systems: DEI DOES NOT recommend wrapping titanium exhausts. The alloys used in manufacturing titanium exhaust systems are typically thin and are designed to dissipate heat quickly. Wrapping any titanium exhaust pipe, regardless of brand, can hold too much heat in and cause the titanium alloy to become brittle and prone to premature cracking. If you want to reduce heat on a titanium exhaust system, DEI recommends using alternatives such as our flexible heat shields.
Fading: While the performance and properties of black exhaust wrap will not deteriorate, the black color will fade over time and use. It will fade more quickly in high-temperature applications such as racing and turbo header applications. If fading occurs, it will fade to the color of the original tan coating. It can be recoated with HT silicone spray for a longer-lasting black finish.
Design Engineering HT Silicone Spray is highly recommended for coating DEI fiberglass since it penetrates, seals, protects, and prolongs the life of exhaust wrap.
