An important first step to reducing unwanted, power-robbing under-hood heat is to wrap your headers and exhaust pipes. Less under-hood radiant heat results in cooler air charge for improved performance, and keeping exhaust gases hotter within the exhaust system helps in decreasing exhaust density & increases exhaust flow.

NOTE: Design Engineering HT Silicone Coating is highly recommended for DEI fiberglass exhaust wrap to penetrate, seal, protect, and prolong the life of the wrap.

NOTE: DEI fiberglass exhaust wrap insulation is NOT recommended for use on catalytic converter as overheating may reduce its life. Instead, try our Corvette catalytic converter shield or create your own shield using our Floor & Tunnel Shield II™.

Caution Note:

Exhaust wrap is not designed to be moved or removed after heat cycles. After heating, the fibers lose their initial flexibility. This does not reduce the thermal properties of the wrap. Please keep this in mind before removal. For this reason, avoid wrapping flexible pipes or flexible joints.

Note on Titanium Exhaust Systems:

DEI does NOT recommend wrapping titanium exhausts. The alloys used in manufacturing titanium exhaust systems are typically thin and are designed to dissipate heat quickly. Wrapping any titanium exhaust pipe, regardless of brand, can trap too much heat and cause the titanium alloy to become brittle and prone to premature cracking. If you wish to reduce heat in a titanium exhaust system, DEI recommends using alternatives such as our flexible heat shields.
