Wrapping headers and exhaust pipes is an important first step in reducing unwanted under-hood heat that affects horsepower. Less heat in the engine compartment results in a cooler air intake for improved performance, and keeping exhaust gases hotter within the exhaust system helps to decrease gas density and increases exhaust flow.
Design Engineering stainless steel ties are the perfect way to fasten heat wrap for an easy, clean, professional installation.

NOTE: Design Engineering HT silicone coating is highly recommended for DEI fiberglass exhaust wrap as it penetrates, seals, protects and prolongs the life of the exhaust wrap.
NOTE: Wrapping catalytic converter is not recommended as overheating may shorten its lifespan. Instead, try our Corvette catalytic converter shield or make your own shield with our Floor & Tunnel Shield II™.
Caution Note:
Wrap is not designed to be moved or removed after it has been heat cycled. Once heated, the fibers lose their initial flexibility. This does not reduce the thermal properties of the exhaust wrap. Please keep this in mind before removal. For this reason, avoid wrapping flexible pipes or flexible joints.
Note on Titanium exhaust systems:
DEI does NOT recommend wrapping titanium exhausts. The alloys used in manufacturing titanium exhaust systems are typically thin and designed to dissipate heat quickly. Wrapping any titanium exhaust pipe, regardless of brand, can trap too much heat and cause the titanium alloy to become brittle and prone to premature cracking. If you want to reduce heat on a titanium exhaust system, DEI recommends using alternatives such as our flexible heat shields.
