An important first step to reducing unwanted power-robbing heat under your hood is by insulating your exhaust manifolds and down pipes. Cooler under hood radiant heat results in a cooler air charge for improved performance, and keeping hotter exhaust gases contained within the exhaust system helps to decrease exhaust density and increase exhaust flow.
Design Engineering stainless steel locking ties are the perfect way to fasten exhaust wrap for an easy, clean, and professional looking installation.

NOTE: Insulating a catalytic converter is not recommended, as overheating it can reduce its lifespan. Instead, try our Corvette catalytic converter shield or create your own with our Floor & Tunnel Shield II™.
Cautionary Note:
Wrap is not designed to be moved or removed after heat cycling. Upon heating, the fibers lose their initial flexibility. This does not reduce the thermal properties of the wrap. Keep this in mind prior to removal. For this reason, avoid wrapping flexible pipes or flex joints.
Note on Titanium Exhaust Systems:
DEI DOES NOT recommend wrapping titanium exhausts. The alloys used in manufacturing titanium exhaust systems are typically thin and designed to dissipate heat quickly. Wrapping any titanium exhaust pipe, regardless of brand, can retain too much heat and cause the titanium alloy to become brittle and prone to premature cracking. If heat reduction on a titanium exhaust system is desired, DEI recommends using alternatives such as our flexible heat shields.
