The main cause of DSG gearbox failure is overheating. Even car designers point to this problem, which is corrected in the new DSG gearboxes, where the oil filter housing is made of corrugated steel aluminum to improve heat dissipation.
Additionally, a common defect of the factory filter housing in the DSG 6 is that it deforms during removal, which causes oil leaks.
The best solution is to replace the DSG 6 plastic filter housing with the RTMG, manufactured entirely from high-quality aluminum, which is much more durable than the original plastic one, thus solving the problems of cracking and deformation. Last but not least, the materials and the additional aluminum fin housing used ensure optimal heat dissipation.
