The I-beam connecting rods for Volvo 2.3L 20v are made of the highest quality 4340 high-tensile steel, with a specially optimized shape for high performance and extreme durability. The bushings are made of AMPCO 18 material, which offers excellent resistance to wear and fatigue, and feature a radial groove that acts as an oil reservoir. They are shot-peened to relieve internal material stresses and undergo multi-stage heat treatment to increase their rigidity. Strict manufacturing process tolerances ensure a perfect fit and optimize oil clearances. Flexing and torsion are strictly controlled. Each connecting rod includes ARP 2000 cap fasteners which are rated at 220,000 psi, optional ARP L19 material 260,00 psi available as an upgrade, and the entire kit is supplied with ARP moly and full assembly instructions.
