The I-beam connecting rods for Audi/VW 2.0L TFSI EA888 Gen.2 (chain driven) are manufactured from high-strength 4340 steel and are designed for high performance, extreme durability, and increased rigidity. They feature rifle drilling, like the OE parts, for improved pin end lubrication. These connecting rods have a straight-cut pin end for increased durability, so they can only be used with aftermarket pistons. The bushings, made from AMPCO 18 material, offer excellent wear and fatigue resistance, and feature a radial oil reservoir groove. They have been shot-peened to relieve material stress and undergone multi-stage heat treatment to increase their rigidity. Strict manufacturing process tolerances ensure a perfect fit and optimize oil clearances. Flex and twist are strictly controlled. Each connecting rod includes ARP 2000 cap fasteners with a strength of 220,000 psi. Optionally, ARP L19 material of 260,000 psi can be purchased as an upgrade. The complete kit is supplied with ARP molybdenum lubricant and comprehensive installation instructions.
