I-beam type connecting rods for BMW 5.0L M5 & M6 V10 S85 engines are made of the highest quality 4340 high tensile steel, with a specially optimized shape for high performance and extreme durability. Bushings are made of AMPCO 18 material, offering excellent wear and fatigue resistance, and feature a radial groove which acts as an oil reservoir. They are shot-peened to relieve internal stresses and undergo a multi-stage heat treatment to increase their rigidity. Strict manufacturing process tolerances guarantee a perfect fit and optimize oil clearance. Flex and twist are strictly controlled. Each connecting rod includes ARP 2000 cap fasteners that are rated at 220,000 psi, optional ARP L19 material 260,00 psi available as an upgrade and the entire kit is supplied with ARP moly and full assembly instructions.
