Bushings are manufactured from AMPCO 18 material, offering excellent wear and fatigue resistance, and feature a radial groove which acts as an oil reservoir. They undergo shot peening to relieve internal material stresses and multi-stage heat treatment to increase their rigidity. Strict tolerances in the production process guarantee a perfect fit and optimize oil clearances. Bending and twisting are strictly controlled. Each connecting rod includes ARP 2000 cap fasteners which are rated at 220,000 psi, optional ARP L19 material 260,00 psi available as an upgrade, and the entire kit is supplied with ARP moly and full assembly instructions. Additional Machining Processes Pin Bushings for perfect fit and accurate re-assembly Bolted Cap Relief for greater big end integrity in extreme applications Thrust face grooving for weight reduction ZRP Connecting Rod Technical Features I-Beam Shape for greater rigidity Two-piece forging for great strength Shot peening for improved fatigue life Magnaflux inspection ensures the consistency of the forging material meets our high-quality standard Double ribbed caps for added support Multi-stage heat treatment for maximum strength, dimensional stability, and fatigue life. CNC machined for superior tolerances, accurate to within 0.0002\". Center-to-center distance is held to under 0.001\" tolerance. Finite Element Analysis (FEA). Computer-generated stress analysis of the connecting rods.
