The "Heavy Duty" I-Beam series connecting rods with L19 bolts for Audi 2.9L TFSI RS4 / RS5 are designed for high power/supercharged applications. Manufactured from the finest raw materials, 4340 high tensile steel with a specially optimized shape for high performance and extreme durability. They feature a straight cut pin end for increased durability, so they can only be used with aftermarket pistons. The bushings are made of AMPCO 18 material, which offers excellent wear and fatigue resistance, and have a radial groove that acts as an oil reservoir. They undergo shot peening to relieve material stress and multi-stage heat treatment to increase rigidity. Strict tolerances in the production process ensure a perfect fit and optimize oil clearances. Bending and torsion are strictly controlled. Each connecting rod includes ARP 2000 cap fasteners with a strength of 220,000 psi. Optionally, 260,000 psi ARP L19 material can be purchased as an upgrade. The complete kit is supplied with ARP molybdenum lubricant and full assembly instructions. Additional machining processes:
Straight cut pin end: suitable for aftermarket pistons.
Dowel pins for perfect fit and precise reassembly.
Flange cap relief for increased big end integrity in extreme applications.
Grooves on the thrust face for weight reduction.

Center-to-center distance is maintained within a 0.001" tolerance.
Finite Element Analysis (FEA): computer-generated stress analysis for connecting rods.
Optimal balancing for weight-matched sets of ± 1 gram.
