The "Heavy Duty" I-Beam connecting rods for Audi 5-Cyl. 2.2L RS2 (S2) are designed for high power/supercharging applications. Manufactured from the finest raw materials, 4340 high tensile steel with a specially optimized shape for high performance and extreme durability. They have a tapered pin end, making them compatible with OEM pistons. The bushings are made from AMPCO 18 material for excellent wear and fatigue resistance, and have a radial groove for oil reservoir. They undergo shot peening to relieve material stress and multi-stage heat treatment to increase rigidity. Strict tolerances in the production process ensure a perfect fit and optimize oil clearances. Bending and twisting are strictly controlled. Each connecting rod includes ARP 2000 cap fasteners rated at 220,000 psi, optional ARP L19 material at 260,00 psi available as an upgrade, and the entire kit is supplied with ARP moly and full assembly instructions.
