The I-beam connecting rods for the BMW M3 S54 (3.2L E46) are manufactured from high-strength 4340 steel of the highest quality, with a shape specifically optimized for high performance and extreme durability. The bushings are made from AMPCO 18 material, which offers excellent resistance to wear and fatigue, and feature a radial groove that acts as an oil reservoir. They undergo shot peening to relieve internal stresses and a multi-stage heat treatment to increase their rigidity. Strict production tolerances ensure a perfect fit and optimize oil clearances. Bending and twisting are strictly controlled. Each connecting rod includes ARP 2000 bolts with a tensile strength of 220,000 psi; optionally, you can choose the ARP L19 material with a tensile strength of 260,000 psi.
