I-beam connecting rods for BMW B-Series 3.0L engines (B58 engine) are manufactured from 4340 high-strength steel. Designed for high performance, extreme durability, and rigidity, while remaining lightweight, these rods feature a tapered small end, making them compatible with OEM pistons. The bushings, made of AMPCO 18 material, offer excellent resistance to wear and fatigue, and feature a radial groove for oil reservoir. They have been shot-peened to relieve material stress and have undergone a multi-stage heat treatment to increase their rigidity. Strict production tolerances ensure a perfect fit and optimized oil clearances. Bending and twisting are strictly controlled. Each connecting rod includes ARP 2000 hex head bolts with a strength of 220,000 psi. As an upgrade option, ARP L19 material with a strength of 260,000 psi can be purchased.
