V1 series dampers utilize a large 44mm diameter piston in a 50mm diameter damper body to maximize oil capacity. During damper operation, the oil heats up. Oil viscosity varies with temperature, which can lead to changes in damping characteristics.
BC Racing exclusively uses high-quality oil in their dampers but goes a step further to maximize performance by manufacturing their V1 range with a 50mm diameter damper body. This increases the damper's capacity, increasing the volume of oil contained, which in turn reduces the maximum temperature and significantly improves its performance.
