Forge Motorsport FMINDK14.R High Flow Intake for Volkswagen Golf 7 1.4 TSi Red

This is the second product launched in the new "Hi-Flow" Forge line. With its unique and elegant design, expect a carbon fiber housing that will enhance your engine and provide more power and torque. The kit includes a Forge machined aluminum connector with a tolerance of less than 0.1 mm. The hose is available in red, blue, or black and comes with all necessary hose clamps. After their success with the carbon fiber intake for the Golf MK7, Forge wanted to expand their "Hi-Flow" line and offer an affordable product for the 1.4 TSI. An exhaustive analysis of existing products, exchanges with tuners and MK7 owners led them to produce a carbon fiber intake and an airbox cover instead of a complete intake kit. From this idea, they began the development phase. The prototype was created with industrial foam and aluminum. With these components, they were able to carry out their tests and identify the best way to integrate the air intake, connect it to the airbox, and install it in the vehicle. Once the prototype was validated, Forge engineers used the latest 3D technology to create the intake cover. During the design process, they performed airflow simulations to ensure the product had the best possible airflow. Subsequently, the carbon fiber prototype was manufactured and installed in the vehicle. The design is one of the best on the market. To ensure the perfection of the product, they hired carbon fiber experts, who manufacture the aerodynamic elements of F1 cars and airplane wings! The cut was made using CNC in aluminum to guarantee an impeccable final product. This allowed them to create a perfect airbox using autoclave processes and 2x2 carbon fiber twill.

After dedicating so much effort to manufacturing carbon fiber and silicone, Forge addressed the filtration problem. Once the designs for the air intake and cover were finalized, they moved on to the hose and filter. There's no point in creating such an efficient system if it's going to be limited by a standard hose and filter.

Therefore, for the filter, they turned to their main partner, Pipercross. With 25 years of experience in production and racing vehicles, they recommended a multi-layer foam filter. The oversized filter they include allows 30% more air to pass through than the original filter and fits perfectly into the housing. The combination of both is ideal. Forge Motorsport's high-flow intake hose couples to the carbon airbox to eliminate the significant restrictions of the original plastic pipe, including noise, and replaces it with this multi-layer silicone hose that improves airflow and the performance of the intake system. This results in a gain of up to 10 hp, a noticeable improvement for such an easy-to-install component. The Forge Motorsport silicone hose in this kit was developed by incorporating an internal layer of reinforced silicone called fluorosilicone.
