Radium Engineering Flex-Fuel Split Flow Sensor Adapter

Flex fuel sensors measure ethanol content. They can be used in the fuel pressure regulator (FPR) return line. However, for increased accuracy and faster response times, the sensor should be installed upstream of the fuel injectors in the feed line. In this case, a pressure drop of up to ~10psi is expected if multiple pumps are used with a high-horsepower engine.

As shown above, the Radium Engineering adapter splits the fuel flow into a bypass conduit parallel to the sensor. Since the flex fuel sensor is directly in-line with the fuel flow, it will read the incoming ethanol content at both high and low engine demands. Traditionally, this bypass was accomplished with Y-fittings and hoses. However, Radium’s split flow flex fuel sensor adapter is simpler, significantly compact, and provides a mounting solution for the popular GM 13577429 flex fuel sensor (shown below).

Two M6x1.0mm socket head cap screws are included for mounting.

Furthermore, the sensor position can be clocked at any time, even once mounted and plumbed. This is ideal for proper spacing with surrounding components.
