Following the success of the FMTIA5 high-performance intake hose for the UK right-hand drive variant, Forge Motorsport is proud to offer the long-awaited high-flow intake solution for the revised 2021 onwards left-hand drive (LHD) MQB platform 2.0 DNF engine codes, with Continental turbocharger and higher output engine. Forge has developed numerous performance parts for VW across various models, and this product replaces the restrictive plastic intake pipe with our smooth-bore multi-ply Forge silicone hose, increasing airflow, improving efficiency and vehicle performance. This results in an increase of up to 8bhp, a notable gain for an easy-to-install modification.

The turbo intake adapter developed by Forge improves your vehicle's airflow in several ways; designed similarly to a conventional intake duct, it directs air into the turbocharger and allows more air to be compressed due to its larger capacity. This has a positive effect on your vehicle's acceleration after prolonged deceleration or between gear changes, thanks to more air being retained in the intake system. Forge has been supplying automotive silicone hoses for many years, and it is common to find OEM plastic intake hoses with ribs and steps inside that cause turbulence and disrupt airflow. Forge's product development expertise results in an oversized Forge Motorsport silicone turbo intake hose with superior flow to the standard hose, and dyno testing shows the huge benefits of such a well-engineered product.

The Forge intake pipe fits directly to the factory airbox, as well as most aftermarket high-performance air intakes. Hours of development and testing result in noticeable results; when accelerating, this component has been shown to add extra power. A simple change on the dyno to our FMTIA9 showed improved power and throttle response at low revs, with gains of over 8bhp and 11lb/ft of torque at peak RPM, along with around 5lb/ft and 6bhp in the mid-range. This easy-to-install modification frees up even more power from the VAG engine and typically takes around 40 minutes. Like all Forge Motorsport products, it includes full installation instructions to make fitting as straightforward as possible.

Combined with the Forge FMINDK40 high-performance intake kit, gains of 16hp can be expected on a standard vehicle. Now that the VW Golf RS ECU is available, this high-performance part is a must-have if a software recalibration is being considered.
