Turbosmart upgraded vacuum wastegate actuators have been developed to provide the highest possible boost response for your factory turbocharger. The Turbosmart upgraded actuator vIWG series benefits from a greater "working ratio" than factory equipment resulting in improved boost response throughout the RPM range. This improved "working ratio" is achieved through an increase in effective diaphragm surface area and revisions in the fitted springs, resulting in greater leverage of the forces the actuator works against (boost and backpressure) while remaining super responsive. When upgrading with the same base pressure as stock, you can expect a broader boost and torque curve as peak boost is reached earlier in the rev range and held for longer, right up to higher RPMs. These improvements can be amplified with higher base pressures, however, tuning and recalibration are recommended for optimum performance.
