Turbosmart upgraded vacuum wastegate actuators have been developed to provide the maximum possible boost response for your factory turbocharger. The Turbosmart upgraded actuator vIWG series benefits from a higher “working ratio” than factory equipment, which results in better boost response across the entire RPM range. This improved “working ratio” is achieved through an increase in effective diaphragm surface area and revisions to the installed springs, which results in greater leverage of the forces the actuator is working against (boost and backpressure) while still remaining super responsive. When upgrading with the same base pressure as factory, you can expect a broader boost and torque curve, as peak boost is reached earlier in the RPM and held for longer, to higher RPM. These improvements can be amplified with higher base pressures, however, tuning and recalibration are recommended for optimum performance.
